INDIGO – “DISGUISE”

Laguna Beach-based indie sensation, Indigo unveils emotive new track, “Disguise”.

Born Miles King, Indigo’s rise to sonic prominence has taken on synergy with his sound with its unique and dynamic nature. Originally training at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, Indigo traded in ballet flats for a guitar during lockdown. Since then, King has self-released a litany of self-produced tunes under the moniker of Indigo, amassing over 10 million streams and captivating the ears of listeners worldwide. Now, he marks a significant milestone in his burgeoning career as he announces a multi-song record deal with Chicago & Nashville-based indie label Easy Does It Records. Indigo shares a charming and endearing new indie cut under his new label, with “Disguise”.

Raw yet polished, Indigo’s captures the essence of contemporary indie blending a rich musical arrangement of melodic piano keys, and light cymbal crashes. Atop of this sits Indigo’s vocal palette, which radiates an ambient warmth whilst a his expressive and emotive tone carries a slight rasp, lending an edge to the overall tone of the track and its almost conversational lyricism.

Reflecting on the latest release and its themes, Indigo shares “‘Disguise’ is inspired by a late-night, driving-in-the-dark atmosphere, infused with the emotive depth of Richard Hawley’s music. It’s a song about the struggle of watching someone you love suffer silently, torn between speaking out and fearing the consequences.”
